Sanni Findner
Artistic Concepts
During her studies at Munich’s Academy of Fine Arts in the 1990s, Sanni Findner discovered that glass was the material she enjoyed working with most. This artist from Graz deliberately employs it for breaking conventions, deliberate provocations and messages conveyed via her spatial installations. “Even when Sanni Findner’s tendency to go in for reduction, her location-specific works, her urge to stage-manage, the interest she shows in industrial output, her shifting perspectives and the formal rigour of her works remind us of the stand taken by artists of the Minimal-Art movement, what remains most important for her is a state of suspense between pure and deliberate aesthetic immediacy and the everyday meaning of objects” (Diana Ebster, 2018).
