Portrait | Bettina K. Schneider
by Verena Wasmuth
Thanks to the broad scope of her training and many years of experience, Bettina K. Schneider brings together three fields of activity in her work – as artist, restorer and museum expert. She lives and works in Berlin where she is assembling a collection of objects from the Palace of the Republic for the Humboldt Forum and recording glass objects for the City Museum Foundation (in the framework of Project DiGi 2020). In her workshop complete with a versatile range of equipment, she restores valuable or well-loved fragments and lamps using reversible, ageless methods. It is also where she creates ambitious glass objects of her own design. Her inspiration is often drawn from organic sources. Bettina Schneider has been a member of glaspool e.V. since 2017 and has been most active in her role as treasurer.
