10 Years of Berlin Glas
Let's keep blowing glass!
10 years ago started the non-profit association project Berlin Glas e.V., initiated by the US-American Nadania Idriss. It brought the first publicly accessible melting furnace for hot glass to Berlin. Since then, Berlin Glas has developed into an important platform with the aim of getting people interested in glass as a medium of artistic expression, providing education and research opportunities. Besides international networks and collaborations with universities, each year, renowned artists participate in the residency program like Monica Bonvicini, Mona Hatoum, and Robin Rhode. With various programs children from Berlin are introduced to glass blowing successfully. Through teaching, Berlin Glas aims to promote and safeguard this intangible heritage. This year, to celebrate the decade, the association purchased an entire new studio so that it can double its capacity for teaching and making. We congratulate our co-founder and partner of glasspool!
