Pròsper Riba Vilardell and Pia Hoff

The two young glass-makers Pròsper Riba Vilardell and Pia Hoff take to the road. It almost looks as if they are continuing a recent tradition, set in motion by the two glass-makers, Louise Lang and Franca Tasch, who travelled the globe as ‘journey-women’ from 2012 to 2014. Riba's and Hoff's immaculately planned trip as apprentices – still an unusual undertaking in this particular trade – is due to last at least two years and will take them to important glass-making centres around the world. The two qualified glassmakers (Zwiesel, Bavaria), who had previously studied Art-and-Design in Barcelona and education in Dortmund, set off at the beginning of September 2019. The project hits off at the Archaeological Museum in Velzeke (Belgium). Then they will move on to famous glass-studios in France, England, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and also Australia, Japan and the USA, enabling them to extend their knowledge and skills. Anyone who would like to support the young glass-makers is welcome to donate.
